thing 22

I have truly came a long way since my first blog.I was so scared that I was going to make a total mess of everything but it did get easier as I went along.I have really enjoyed learning some new things and getting out of my comfort zone. I now have the confidence to do more blogging thanks to 23 things at neflin. I am going to make a promise to myself to keep up with the new tools and apply them to my library.

thing 21

I think the assignment calculator and the research calculator is a very important tool to have available in today's society. Students are able to calculate the day there assignment is due. This tool also offers hints, worksheets and guides. The teacher's guide would be a big help in our area to provide teachers with a direction in guiding there students and also to assist teacher's with creating research projects, setting goals, and ensure students that they have the necessary information and technical skills to be successful.Public libraries as well as academic libraries can use these features to instruct teachers about the RPC.

thing 20

I really enjoyed reading trails the most because it gives you the opportunity to share your books with friends also to select and tag books that you may want to read in the future, or have already read and recommend. It will also let you comment on as to why you chose that particular book. This is a neat tool.

thing 18

i do not have a my space or facebook acoount as of yet. I can see where it would be an asset for libraries and librarians. I think that personally my space is for the younger crowd whereas facebook is for the older college kids. I do have some friends my age that have facebook accounts and really enjoy connecting up with friends that they have not heard from in years. So after reading some of the blogs on neflins 23 things I think that eventually I will sign up and get my own account.

thing 19

I am not a member of any of the communities. I found the food and goodreads sites to be very appealing. This will be a good way to share recipes with one another, and also a way to recommend books that I have read to my friends. This is another great resource to have.

thing 17

I listened to several podcasts mostly music and gaming.I found podcast.com the easiet to use.But this has not inspired me to want to do any podcasting or subscribe to it regularly.

thing 15

This is a very imformative resource.I really like the idea of being able to search for just about any subject that you want and getting it first hand.

thing 14

i really like the calendar from 30 boxes this is a good way for me to be better organized and keep up with birthdays and appointments.

thing 13

I believe that this has been the best thing yet. This is really cool to be able to keep a list on books that you may want to read or have already read. A great resource that can be shared with other librarians.

thing 12

I think wikipedia is not a very good reliable source. I just don't put much stock in it for the simple reason that anyone can put information on it.

thing 11

I really hope that the bionic arm will become a reality since the technology is there for it. A lot of our soldiers will be able to benefit from this. Not only soldiers but anyone who loses a limb. Maybe someday the bionic leg will also be avaliable.

thing 10

I think that tagging is an awesome tool that can be used in some many different ways.
Since I am a children's librarian and do story times weekly for preschoolers and toddlers, this will enable me to keep a better track of sites that I use frequently.

slideshows, databases

this was cool. I enjoyed learning how to do this. I think that the teens would really enjoy doing this during the summer program
